    Record of Service:

     

    Edward Dillon was born on the 22nd of December 1901 in Newcastle, New South Wales. He was working as a Plumber when he enlisted in the Militia on the 25th of June 1942. He was allocated service number N347044 and joined the 57th Australian Field Park Company, RAE on the 10th of July 1942.

     

    On the 2nd of October 1942 he transferred to the 2nd A.I.F and was re-allocated service number NX141803. On the 16th of August 1943 he embarked from Townsville for Thursday Island where he served until September 1944. Edward embarked from Thursday Island on the 28th of September 1944 and disembarked at Brisbane on the 28th of September 1944.

     

    On the 29th of June 1945 Edward embarked from Brisbane and disembarked at Lae, on the 5th of July 1945. Edward was attached to the 2/7th AGH in New Guinea and returned to Sydney on the 1st of January 1946. He was discharged on the 11th of January 1946.

     

    Included is Female Relative Badge A134089 – 2 stars. Sent to Mrs Elsie May Dillon, mother of Edward Dillon and Philip Ferguson (N256557).
