Record of Service:
Charles Bohmer was born about 1861 in Middlesex, London. He was working as a Clerk when he enlisted in the British Army on the 15th of February 1879. He was allocated service number 4022 and joined the Army Hospital Corps on the 20th of February 1879.
Charles served at home from the 20th of February 1879 until the 31st of July 1882. He then served in Egypt from the 1st of August 1882 until the 18th of January 1884. (This service qualified him for the Egypt Medal dated 1882 with the clasp for TEL-EL-KEBIR). He returned to the U.K for home service until the 24th of September 1884.
On the 25th of September 1884 he returned to Egypt where he served until the 19th of November 1887. (This service qualifying him for clasp THE NILE 1884-85).
He returned to the U.K on the 20th of November 1887 and was discharged on the 18th of February 1888, being “unfitted for the duties of the medical staff corps.” His character noted as “indifferent, guilty of frequent acts of absence.”
