Record of Service:
Francis Kelly was born about 1869 in Flint. He was working as a Labourer when he enlisted in the British Army on the 18th of January 1893. He was allocated service number 4654 and joined the Royal Irish Regiment.
On the 7th of April 1893 Francis was posted to the 1st Battalion RIR and is noted as being AWOL on the 12th of January 1894. He rejoined the Battalion on the 18th of January 1894 and was AWOL again on the 25th of November 1894 (listed in the Police Gazette 11th of December 1894). He rejoined the 1st Battalion on the 6th of December 1894 and was posted to the 2nd Battalion RIR on the 10th of December 1894.
Francis served with the 2nd Battalion in India from the 10th of December 1894 until invalid home on the 7th of June 1898. He was discharged on the 6th of November 1898.
