    Record of Service:

     

    1163 Trooper William Henderson served with the Johannesburg Mounted Rifles during the Boer War from the 24th of April 1901 to the 18th of November 1901.

     

    On the 4th of December 1901 William joined the 3rd New South Wales Imperial Bushmen and was re-allocated service number 2388. He returned to New South Wales on the Aurania in May 1902.

     

    For his service with the JMR William was awarded the QSA medal with clasp - Transvaal. He qualified for the additional clasps -Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1901 and 1902 for his time with the NSWIB.

     

    Notes:

     

    Please note the CC and OFS bars would have been awarded later and are no longer with the medal. T, SA01 & SA02 clasps officially riveted together.
