Record of Service:
Ralph Hansler was born about 1870 in Portsmouth, England. He was working as a Driller when he enlisted in the Imperial Yeomanry on the 13th of January 1902. He served in South Africa with the 160th Company, 36th Bn from the 26th of May 1902 until the 2nd of January 1903. (He did not receive any awards for this service).
Ralph served during WW1 with the Royal Army Medical Corps, he was allocated service number 57653 and entered theatre (3) Egypt on the 29th of May 1915. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal whilst serving with the No. 15 Casualty Clearing Station R.A.M.C. (London Gazette 18th of October 1916 page 10042).
